The project “Socialization and popularization of an early Christian monastery V-VI century – Janavara”, financed by the “Culture” Fund, Municipality of Varna, successfully ended and carried out a number of activities in the period from May to August, which contributed to achieving results that are visible , will help to get to know and preserve the Early Christian Monastery, which few Varna residents and guests of the city know about.
Thanks to archaeologists Alexander Minchev and Vasil Tenekejiev from the National Archaeological Museum in Varna, students from P. Evtimii Primary School and volunteers from the Eco-club “Defenders of the Black Sea” to the “Our World” Association, the monument to H. Shkorpil was restored , information signs were prepared and placed, cleaning actions and an open day were organized in the Janavara area.
A three-dimensional model of the cultural object, as well as a promotional film with author Iva Paneva and a website will contribute to the promotion of this cultural heritage and its maintenance in order to preserve its historical significance. The annual excavations that take place at the site reveal new artifacts, secrets and knowledge.
